The reason they were removed has to do with them being part of the "unseen" which are wrapped up with the lawsuit involving Harmony Gold with Harmony arguing these particular mech models infringe on their IP. To quickly summarize the situation, the lawsuit primarily involves Piranaha Games which made Mechwarrior Online, but since HBS arranged to license the base mech models to save on development costs, they ended up being somewhat involved as well.
You can read much more about the lawsuit in another thread on this front page of this forum among other places. From HBS's perspective, the risk of Harmony seeking a preliminary injunction to block the game's release was simply too high to leave the mechs in until the lawsuit is resolved. There also would be the risk of legal liability if Harmony actually did in fact win their lawsuit which further made simply the risk of keeping those two mechs in the game for the initial release simply not worth it.
